2017 Arbor Financial Scholarship Program
About the Program
A total of $388,000 has been awarded through Arbor Financial Credit Union's Scholarship Program, which was established in 1999 to enhance the educational opportunities and advancement of the credit union's member/owners. Scholarships are awarded annually to high school seniors who not only demonstrate academic achievement, but community involvement, extracurricular activities and financial need as described.
Arbor Financial Credit Union awards 18 students with $1,000 scholarships and three $2,000 scholarships for a total of $24,000 to 21 outstanding students.
The three $2,000 scholarships are the Donna VanWestrienen Scholarship and Robert E. Treloar Scholarship in honor of two individuals who each served on the board of directors for over twenty years, and the Robert S. Hunt Scholarship in honor of Arbor Financial Credit Union's retired President/CEO who led the credit union for 30 years.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a primary* Arbor Financial Credit Union member in good standing for at least one year at the time of application
- Be a high school senior accepted to an accredited, post-secondary school
- Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Once the application is completed please send or drop off at any Arbor Financial location by Friday, April 1, 2017 addressed to the Scholarship Committee.
*A primary member opens his/her Arbor Financial Credit Union account with an initial $5.00 deposit to establish a share savings account. Joint members are not eligible. If you are not sure of eligibility, check your Arbor Financial Credit Union account statement (the primary member is listed first) or contact us. Official family members, employees of Arbor Financial Credit Union and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the scholarship program.
